Meet Our Directors.

AML is led by an experienced, dynamic team with a track record in Company administration and development, a strong background in engineering and the semiconductor industry and expertise in the science of wafer bonding.

David Adamson

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

David joined AML 30 years ago when the company was established and took on the role of Technical Director on the 1st March 2021. David's area of expertise is in engineering, and he completed his Applied Physics degree at Portsmouth Polytechnic in 1985. Having been involved in various roles, including at management level, since the company was established, David brings vast knowledge of our equipment, customers, and suppliers. As Technical Director, he oversees the development and manufacture of Aligner Wafer Bonders and supports the work of the other directors. David divides his spare time between walking, playing the trumpet in a local band and family / military history research.

Anna Draisey

APPLICATIONS DIRECTOR

Anna Draisey joined AML in 2008, shortly after receiving her MSc degree in Electronics Engineering, MEMS faculty from Wrocław University of Technology,  Poland. She has extensive experience in wafer processing, particularly wafer bonding. She is involved in R&D on bonding technologies and works very closely with AML Design and Software Development teams on constant improvements of AML systems. Anna manages Factory and Site Acceptance Testing of Aligner Wafer Bonders to ensure the machines delivered to our customers are of highest quality. She looks after customer bonding demonstrations and machine installations and is very dedicated to customer support and training. She became AML’s Applications Director in 2021. In her spare time Anna enjoys travelling, playing viola, latin dancing and baking.

Roger Dyer

SALES & MARKETING DIRECTOR

Roger is Sales and Marketing Director at Applied Microengineering Limited. Graduating in Engineering Science from the University of Warwick in 1984, Roger has over 30 years’ involvement in crystal growth and semiconductor-related industries. Prior to joining AML and experienced in crystal growth technology and the design of crystal growth systems, Roger held several senior positions at PV Crystalox Solar PLC, managing the early pioneering work of process development for the industrial production of multicrystalline silicon, for the PV industry. Roger later became responsible for silicon quality control, with teams in the UK, Germany, and Japan, and latterly for global sales of wafers and silicon production equipment. Roger joined Applied Microengineering Limited in 2018. Roger enjoys tennis, walks and travel.

Elaine Davie

FINANCIAL & ADMINISTRATION DIRECTOR

Elaine joined AML in January 2020 and became AML’s Financial and Administration Director in March 2021. Having worked as a Senior Bank Manager at Lloyds Bank, she completed her accountancy qualification with the ICB in 2006. Over the past 20 years, Elaine has completed extensive training on both the implementation and management of Quality Control Systems and Health and Safety. In addition to being a qualified first aider and mental health ambassador, Elaine brings a wealth of financial, HR and office administration experience. Elaine enjoys yoga, country walks with her family and cooking.
